The Executive Committee at the regular business meeting of July 10, 2012 unanimously appointed Mr. Dwayne Bailey to serve in the District #1 seat which is entirely located in West Ascension. Mr. Bailey was the guest speaker for the meeting which was held at Faith Christian Center in Donaldsonville.
Mr. Bailey has served with the Department of Health and Hospitals Office of Behavioral Disorders as a Regional Prevention Coordinator in both Region II and Region III of the State of Louisiana. He was appointed by Governor Mike Foster to the Governor’s Council of Developmental Disabilities where he served on the Executive Board providing services to disabled individuals and their families statewide. Mr. Bailey is the past director of the Donaldsonville Community Health Coalition a non-profit group that focused on providing health & alcohol and other drug prevention programs to teens located in the City of
Donaldsonville. He has, also, served on the Baton Rouge Community HIV/Aids Board.
Mr. Bailey is proud to have served as Band Booster Club President at Donaldsonville
High School and is currently a board member of Faith Christian Center. He has
also worked on various other committees and boards providing assorted health-related services.
Mr. Bailey is a National Trainer of Trainers in the area of Community-building. He is a graduate of Southern University. His current occupation is Operator/Supervisor at Shell-Motiva in Convent. He is married to Donna Fernandez Bailey and they have two sons Brandon and Braxton Bailey. Mr. Bailey stated,” It is an honor to serve on the Republican Parish Executive Committee. I look forward to working with the committee to bring strong professional leadership that enhances our local, parish and state government.”
The Ascension Republican Parish Executive Committee members look forward to
